The international branch campus of Xiamen University, known as Xiamen University Malaysia (abbreviated as XMUM), is situated in Sepang, Selangor, Malaysia. Xiamen University Malaysia is an international branch campus of Xiamen University in China. It is the first Chinese university branch campus in Malaysia and the first Chinese public institution to open a campus abroad. Situated in Xiamen, Fujian, China, Xiamen Institution is a national public institution. Xiamen University Malaysia fees are way more cheaper than other public universities. It is supported and associated with China’s Ministry of Education.
The university is involved in the Double First-Class Construction, Project 211, and Project 985. In 2016, Xiamen University opened its Malaysia Campus after accepting the invitation and offer from the Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education. Both the Chinese Ministry of Education and the Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education have approved Xiamen University Malaysia. In terms of Nature Index Institution Research Output, Xiamen University Malaysia came in fifth place in Malaysia.

For students who progress from XMUM Foundation to XMUM Undergraduate Program, they will be eligible to apply for our Progression Scholarships, as below:

Study Grant Maintenance: Undergraduate Program Study Grant recipients are required to meet a minimum CGPA of 2.0 at the end of each academic year to continue enjoying the study grant in subsequent years.
Scholarships Maintenance: Undergraduate Program Scholarships’ recipients are required to meet the stipulated academic results to continue enjoying the scholarship in the subsequent years as below:

Postgraduate Study Progression Pathways
A progression pathway indicates a collaboration with a partner university that defines the admission criteria to facilitate students’ academic progress towards a postgraduate degree. Through this simplified pathway, students from our campus may progress into a postgraduate degree at the esteemed institution with certain privileges, such as a tuition fee discount or an exemption on the English language proficiency requirement.
Study Abroad
This framework aims to provide opportunities for undergraduate students to broaden their academic experiences through student mobility. Under this framework, students will be able to study abroad for a semester or an academic year, and the majors are usually not subject-specific.
Note: Please keep in mind that not all partner universities provide postgraduate study progression pathways and study abroad, as some discussions with partner universities are still ongoing.
2. What are the requirements needed to apply for the postgraduate degree/study abroad programme at our partner university?
A: Generally, most postgraduate degree/study abroad programmes require students to have an undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or above and to meet the requirement for English language proficiency.
3. What documents are needed to apply for the postgraduate degree/study abroad programme at our partner university?
A: Normally, students will apply for a postgraduate degree / study abroad programme with their latest official result slip and other documents depending on the requirements of the university (e.g., proof of English language proficiency, personal statement, recommendation letter, passport profile, etc.).
4. How do I apply if I am interested in a postgraduate degree / study abroad programme at our partner university?
A: Different partner universities have different application methods. Some partner universities require students to apply through the Global Engagement and Partnerships Office, and some partner universities require students to directly apply through the online portal.
